No matter your passion, whether it be education, working with the hungry and homeless, assisting aging and disabled populations, or something else, you will find many ways to use your gifts to serve with Campus Ministry.

Bethlehem House
A Campus Ministry weekly service site partnering with Best Buddies to build community with adults who have intellectual disabilities, through shared dinners and attending Mass, both on campus and at a walkable location. Students can participate beginning in their first semester at CUA. -
Brookland Outreach
Serve the Brookland community by volunteering at two large-scale on-campus events: Halloween on Campus and Spring2CUA. Students can volunteer beginning in their first semester at CUA.

Community of Sant’Egidio
A Campus Ministry weekly service site where students visit and serve residents in a low-income nursing and rehabilitation center in DuPont Circle. Students can volunteer beginning in their first semester at CUA. -
Father McKenna Center
A Campus Ministry weekly service site where students serve breakfast to guests at the McKenna Center on a weekly basis. Students can volunteer beginning in their first semester at CUA. -
Homeless Food Runs
Catholic University students have the chance to help fight hunger around DC on a weekly basis through a Campus Ministry weekly service site. Students travel to Union Station and other parts of D.C. to distribute food and spend time with individuals experiencing homelessness. Large-Scale Service Days
Join hundreds of CUA students in serving the Brookland community during the Mother Teresa Day of Service (fall) and Martin Luther King Day of Service (spring). Students can participate beginning in their first semester at CUA.

Little Sisters of the Poor
A Campus Ministry weekly service site where students serve dinner and spend time with the elderly. Students can volunteer beginning in their first semester at CUA. -
Missionaries of Charity
Campus Ministry weekly service site where students attend morning Mass and assist with household chores for the sisters and their residents. Students can volunteer beginning in their first semester at CUA. -
Ronald McDonald House
Campus Ministry weekly service site where students prepare meals and spend time with families of seriously ill children receiving care at Children’s Hospital. Students can volunteer beginning in their first semester at CUA. -
Sacred Heart Dinners/Food Packing
Campus Ministry weekly service site where students support local hunger outreach by helping with dinner service and food distribution (two separate events) at Sacred Heart parish. Students can volunteer beginning in their first semester at CUA. -
St. Ann’s Center for Children, Youth & Families
A Campus Ministry weekly service site where students volunteer at monthly parties for children and teen mothers. Students can volunteer beginning in their first semester at CUA. -
St. Anthony of Padua Parish & School:

Do I need to bring anything?
Depending on the site you might need to bring Metro money, a back pack, or wear comfy clothes. The site leader will give you the specifics for each site. -
How do I get there?
Transportation is provided for most sites. Some of the sites will take the Metro or are walking distance from campus. The site leader will give you the specifics for each site. -
Do I have to go every week?
While it would be great for you to serve every week but there is no obligation to volunteer every week. -
I need a letter verifying I did community service. How do I get one?
To obtain a verification letter, contact the Office of Campus Ministry (cua-campus-ministry@cua.edu) and a letter will be written for service done through CUA sponsored service activities. There will be sign in sheets for every CUA service activity. Make sure you sign in! -
How do I get emails about community service opportunities?
If you would like to be added to the community service email list, email find the site(s) that you wish to receive emails from and contact the service leader(s) directly. They will send you weekly emails. -
