How do I request a Mass intention, and are there any guidelines I should know?
At every Mass, the priest offers the Holy Sacrifice for a particular intention. When members of our university community die, we automatically offer a Mass for the repose of their souls and we remember them especially through the Month of November.
If you would like to have a Mass offered for a loved one, living or deceased, please complete the form below.Mass cards are available upon request.
Because of the number of requests, we cannot specify the celebrant or accommodate requests for specific dates and times. Also because of the number of requests, we do not announce intentions publicly. Your intention will be offered by a university chaplain or priest in a timely manner.
“The Christian faithful who give an offering to apply the Mass for their intention contribute to the good of the Church and by that offering share its concern to support its ministers and works” (Code of Canon Law, c. 946). The Archdiocese of Washington recommends a Mass stipend of $10, but any amount may be given.
If you have questions about your request, please call our main office at 202-319-5575. -
How do I submit a prayer request, and what happens to the intentions I share?
