Fr. Maximo was born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He played rugby at “Champagnat” Rugby Club in Buenos Aires through high school and college. He's always down for a sports conversation! Fr. Maximo earned his bachelor's degree in philosophy from a Dominican university in Buenos Aires, his MA and MDiv from Mount Angel Seminary in Oregon, his STB from the Gregorianum in Rome, and his STL from Sacred Heart Major Seminary in Detroit, Michigan.

Fr. Maximo is a priest of the St. John Society, a society of apostolic life founded more than 20 years ago in Argentina. He was ordained on July 14, 2012, at the national shrine of the first Argentinian saint, Cura Brochero, in Cordoba, Argentina. Before being sent to Catholic University to serve as one of the chaplains for undergraduate students, Fr. Maximo served as the director of the Newman Center at Oregon State University for seven years.
