The Office of Campus Ministry is pleased to offer Faculty and Staff the opportunity to make a silent retreat from Friday, October 15, to Sunday, October 17. The retreat will be held off campus at the Holy Cross Abbey Retreat House, located in Berryville, Virginia (west of Leesburg, VA), about 1-1/2 hours driving distance west of the Catholic University campus.

What is a Silent Retreat?
A silent retreat is an opportunity to "come away and rest awhile" (Mark 6:31), leaving busyness aside, to engage in a period of prayerful solitude and silence in a secluded location. The retreat is not guided, but retreatants will have the opportunity to participate in Holy Mass and receive spiritual guidance.
When is the Retreat?
The silent retreat will be held on the weekend of October 15-17. Arrive at the Retreat Center after 3:00 p.m. on Friday, October 15. Depart after lunch (before 2:00 p.m.) on Sunday, October 17.
Where is the Retreat?

How Much Does the Retreat Cost?
The cost of the retreat weekend is $150, which will applied to defraying the cost of meals and lodging at the Retreat Center.
When and How Do I Sign Up for the Retreat?
Let us know of your plans to attend the retreat by Friday, October 1. Sign up for the retreat here.
When and How Do I Make Retreat Payment?
Retreat payment is due by Friday, October 8. Payment by cash, check, or credit card may be made at the Office of Campus Ministry, basement level of Caldwell Hall.
Can I Attend for Only a Portion of the Retreat?
One may arrive late or leave early. However, we regret that we cannot offer a reduced rate in these cases. The cost of the retreat is still $150. Please coordinate arrival and departure information with Fr. Louis and Sr. Ruth.
Are There Accommodations for People With Dietary Restrictions?
The Retreat Center provides simple fare which is the same for all retreatants. The fare usually includes some options suitable for those with dietary restrictions (e.g., vegetarian). Contact the retreat center for more information.
Is it Possible to Carpool With Others to and from the Retreat?
Yes. We will be driving several vehicles from Catholic University to the Retreat Center on Friday afternoon, and returning to the University on Sunday afternoon. If interested, contact Fr. Louis for details. We are unable to offer pick-up or drop-off service to alternate locations. If unable to join the carpool, you are responsible for your own transportation to and from the retreat center.
