+Marie Shepherd, wife of John Shepherd, Acting University Archivist, passed away on February 20th. Condolences can be sent to John at the Archives, 101 Aquinas Hall. Plans for a memorial service later this year are still pending. +Yvonne Maria Thomas, grandmother of Chavonne N. Thomas, Technological Services, entered into eternal rest on February 13, 2019. Family and friends will unite on Friday, February 22, 2019 for visitation at 10 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 amat Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 3800 Ely Place, SE, Washington, DC. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery, 8000 Woodyard Rd., Clinton, MD.

+ Gulfiye Yavuz, the Mother of Abdulkadir Yavuz, Adjunct Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, who passed away on February 4, 2019 in Istanbul, Turkey.    Condolences may be sent to Abdulkadir Yavuz in the c/o the Department of Mechanical Engineering. 

+ Mother Perpetua Giampietro, OSB, (known formally as Laura Catherine Antoinette, '71) sister of Rev. Anthony Giampietro,CSB,  Visiting Scholar and Director of Development for the School of Philosophy, who passed into eternal life on February 7, 2019.  The Requiem Mass was offered on Monday, February 11, 2019 at Regina Laudis Monastery.  Condolences may be sent to Father Anthony in c/o The School of Philosophy.   
+ James T. Carney, the Father of Timothy Carney, Executive Director of Housing Services, Recreational Sports & Fitness, Transportation and Parking, passed into eternal life on Friday January 25, 2019.  Visitation will take place on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at 9;00 A.M.  in the Gathering Space of Blessed Sacrament Church, 3020 Reeves Rd NE, Warren, OH 44483 with the Funeral Mass beginning at 10:00 A.M. + Mary Catherine Rodgers, Mother of M. Jeanne Russell, Adjunct Professor in the Metropolitan School and Maria Rodgers O'Rourke '85, passed into eternal life on Thursday, January 24, 2019.

+ Merle Morozowich,  Father of the Very Rev. Mark Morozowich, Dean of the the School of Theology and Religious Studies, who passed into eternal life on January 22, 2019. The viewing will be held from 2:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 26, 2019 and Sunday, January 27, 2019 at Ott Funeral Home, 805 Pennsylvania Ave, Irwin, PA 15642.  A 5:30 P.M. a prayer service will be held on both days. The final viewing will be held on Monday, January 28 , 2019, at 9:30 A.M. with the 10:00 A.M. prayer service and departure for St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church,1907 Eden Park Blvd, McKeesport, PA 15132, for the 11A.M.  + Rita Jean Figura, Mother of John Figura, Clinical Assistant Professor of Painting in the Art Department, passed into eternal life on Friday, January 18, 2019. The wake will be held on Thursday, January 31, 2019 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Demaine Funeral Home, 5308 Backlick Rd, Springfield, VA 22151.  The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 A.M. at St. Michael's Catholic Church, 7401 St Michael's Lane, Annadale, VA 22003.
