Marcelo

Marcelo was born in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia, where he first studied Business Administration, though he always felt a strong inclination toward music. From serving as pianist and cantor for student Masses at Don Bosco School in middle school to producing concerts and events with national symphonic orchestra and choirs, music remained a constant presence in his life. Focused primarily on choral music, he conducted and produced numerous choral groups in Bolivia until 2022, when he moved to the United States to pursue graduate studies through a Graduate Assistantship at Florida International University, earning his master’s degree in Choral Conducting.

Since then, Marcelo has been actively involved in Miami’s and now the DMV's choral community while returning periodically to Bolivia to continue fostering choral initiatives. In 2025, he was awarded a full scholarship to pursue a doctorate in Sacred Music at The Catholic University of America. Here, he hopes to share the transformative power of music with younger generations to show that music evokes our most sincere feelings and inspires a deeper connection to faith, community, and the world around us.
