
Ignacio was born and raised in Montevideo, Uruguay. He grew up playing rugby and competed through high school and college with the “Ceibos” Rugby Club in Montevideo. He also represented Uruguay for two seasons with the U-20 National Team. Ignacio completed his undergraduate studies in Industrial Engineering at the Universidad de Montevideo, later earning a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy at a Dominican university in Buenos Aires.
Ignacio is currently in formation for the priesthood with the St. John Society, a Society of Apostolic Life founded over twenty years ago in Argentina. He is now at The Catholic University of America completing a pastoral year, where he serves in Undergraduate Ministry, Athletics Ministry, and Graduate Student outreach. He’s into all kinds of team sports, and is always down for a conversation or a good game.
